Buying a pre-owned TAG Heuer watch is a good idea because in many cases you’ll be getting a great watch with serious heritage at a price that’s below RRP.
Heuer Watch Company was founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer and is based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In 1985, Heuer was bought by the TAG Company. The names were combined and a new brand – TAG Heuer was born.
TAG Heuer is now one of the most famous luxury watch brands in the world. It is also one of the most important watch brands in watchmaking history and has its roots deeply connected to the world of motorsport. The brand gained particular notiority in the 1971 film Le Mans when Steve McQueen chose to wear the Heuer Monaco.
Interesting little know fact – TAG Heuer was actually the first Swiss watch in space.
TAG stands for Techniques d’Avant Garde and Heuer certainly pushes the boundaries. Luckily not the financial boundaries. Which is why when you buy a perfect, fully tested and warrantied Heuer or TAG/Heuer watch from Oakleigh Watches, you will be buying a great watch as well as an asset.
1. Choosing the right Heuer / TAG Heuer watch.
Heuer watches have been in production since 1860 and switched to TAG Heuer in 1985. The models we stock at Oakleigh are mainly made in the 1960’s and 1970’s reissues of the classic motorsport Heuer.
However, in our Alderleigh Collection we also stock some of the more entry level references.
From elegant chronographs to high-end connected timepieces, there are a wide range of sport based models to choose from.

3. Do I need Box & Papers?
Having a Full Set watch can increase the investment value of the watch if and when you come to sell it. Of course this works both ways and therefore buying a Full Set Pre-owned TAG Heuer will increase the price tag.

4. How do I know it’s genuine?
For absolute confidence, we would always advise you ask an expert and/or buy from a reputable seller.
Our Guide to serial numbers is worth a read as it will give you an idea of how complex this question is and how good fraudsters are these days.
