In the spring of 2014, one of Oakleigh Watches’ customers will be undertaking an extraordinary three week trip to raise funds for an organisation which provides rehabilitation for injured servicemen. And he will be taking two Oakleigh watches with him.
One motorbike, one 4×4, a recovered injured veteran and a lawyer will make the journey from Kabul, Afghanistan to The Kennels, West Sussex to raise money for Mission Motorsport and to inspire other injured veterans.
The trip will pass through 16 countries including war-torn Afghanistan where it is entirely possible the team will encounter any number of real security threats. Although the media coverage has reduced, the reality of living and travelling in Afghanistan can still be very dangerous.
Mission Motorsport is a British Forces Charity that was set up in 2011 to aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations, by providing opportunities through motorsport. It is appointed as the Combined Services official provider of adaptive motorsport.
