In May 2015 the article was called ‘Music & Watches’ and here it is:

Music & Watches

When the topic of music arose for this month’s column, the thing that immediately sprang to mind was of course the  iWatch – A watch with access to a seemingly endless library of music.

Until the digital and later the computerised revolution, having a musical wristwatch was a phenomenally  complicated and incredibly expensive undertaking – in fact any function of a mechanical watch other than telling the time is known as a ‘Complication’ – the more complicated it is, the more it costs – and music is considered a ‘Grand Complication’.

Recently a Patek Philippe Grand Complication sold at auction for $2.25m so isn’t it wonderful that the iWatch brings you a world of music for just £350? Except the iWatch isn’t a watch at all – it’s a fashion accessory that you wear on your wrist.

THIS Patek is a watch.
