“So this is long overdue, in fact the only thing that took longer was summoning up the courage to spend a substantial amount of money on a much lusted after object with an unknown seller.
I stalked Oakleigh Watches or Giles as I now know him for about 6 months via Twitter and admired many a stunning Rolex that I saw come and go. During this time it became clear this was a genuine dealer with a passion for luxury goods.
Then a fateful day arrived a new #womw picture and a break from the norm – a Panerai and a stunner – the beautifully simple PAM112. I was hooked and Giles was too, not for sale, private collection and can’t take it off are all Tweets I remember reading whilst admiring the accompanying photos.
Then a few weeks later out of nowhere on a Saturday morning a hard decision had been reached I know not why but two of the private collection were available, only one to be sold, first come first served! I was a wreck should I?, shouldn’t I? –  I’ve wanted one for ages, it’s alot of money, what to do?
The girlfriend was called – “it’s your money'”wasn’t a “no”, nor a “yes”… Fellow workers consulted and a decision reached, I’m in sales so an offer was made, a counter offer received and met, money was sent and a nervous 48hrs was waited.
Teaser photos of packages ready for posting followed and then it was here – my package, my three boxes all original papers Full Set, piece of art had arrived.
I haven’t stopped smiling everytime it graces my wrist and is my favourite purchase.
It’s a big decision and one I’m glad I made and I am enthusiastically recommending Giles to anyone prepared to listen
