The Heuer Monaco is without doubt one of the most important watches ever made and a classic for Motor Racing fans the world over – Particularly those who appreciate ‘The King Of Cool’, Steve McQueen.
Whenever watch fans are asked about all time classic watches, along with Submariners, Daytonas and Tanks, comes the Heuer Monaco – this is possibly something to do with the fact that Steve McQueen wore one in the movie Le Mans, and possibly because they’re both bold and beautiful.
This watch is one of the first Monacos ever made coming as it does from 1969 – it’s said that the total production run of these watches only ran into a few thousand so it’s a rare thing indeed.
The case is in excellent condition with just a few tiny marks that are too slight to show on the photos or video. The dial and hands show slight signs of patina but none of the deterioration on the visible part of the dial that you so often see on Heuer Monacos and the plexiglass is perfect.
One of the rarest parts of this beautiful watch is the original bracelet with its Heuer clasp and ends links, all of which are in excellent condition and which, surprisingly, fits an 8 inch wrist.
The Calibre 11 movement was serviced a couple of years ago and it has just been tested again at Michlmayr & Co. – this really is a stunning thing for the watch or motor racing lover.
As always, this Heuer Monaco is supplied with a 12 month warranty.
