Here we have a 99.9% perfect example of the 39mm Rolex Explorer 214270 – another that’s pretty much a new watch in fact, a 2013 watch, nearly ten years old and it looks like it’s barely been worn. The original 36mm Explorer was designed in the 1950s and the model has been a staple of the Rolex line ever since in both Explorer and Explorer II versions.
This is the new larger Oyster Perpetual Explorer designed to bring the option of this classically styled Rolex to those with a larger wrist as the 36mm version is a little small for modern styles. The classic Explorer 3,6,9 dial really stands out and looks superb in the flesh, so to speak. This is the MkI version.
I’m sure that if you looked REALLY carefully with a loupe or magnifying glass then you might find a mark on the watch somewhere but with the naked eye it genuinely looks new and I can’t find a mark on it – there is a small mark on the clasp but that’s it. Given that it’s not currently possible to buy this model in a Rolex Authorised Dealer without a lengthy waiting list, this is a great opportunity to get the next best thing.
Complete with original papers, boxes, Explorer booklet, green wallet and the tags this watch is a Full Set. It has just been tested in the Rolex certified workshop here and comes with a twelve month warranty – at Oakleigh Watches, we love a Rolex Full Set.
