The Rolex Milgauss was developed in the late 1950s specifically for the scientists at CERN whose wristwatches wouldn’t work in areas of high magnetism because the movement of most watches stops working when subjected to magnetic fields measuring around 70 Gauss.
This watch was specially designed to work in areas of up to 1,000 Gauss – hence the name ‘Milgauss’.
The simple design combined with the size of the case of the Milgauss lends it a solid feeling – unfussy and uncluttered with nothing superfluous.
The current 116400 Milgauss range contains two different ‘Glass Vert’ or ‘GV’ models, one with a black dial and one with blue – there were also two other 116400s, the black and the white, both of which are discontinued – this is the black variant.
This is a brand new, completely unworn watch bought in 2014 and complete with everything that came from the factory – it is still fully stickered.
A great set complete with boxes, wallet, YRO booklet, tags and of course papers it’s a stunner and a fantastic watch for those Rolex lovers who want something a bit different – at Oakleigh Watches, we love a Rolex Full Set.
This Rolex Milgauss is supplied with a twelve month warranty.
