This is a lovely Full Set Rolex 116400GVZ Milgauss, bought in 2019 and lightly worn. It comes complete with everything that came from the factory. Recently discontinued, prices have settled and supply is falling.
The Rolex Milgauss was developed in the late 1950s specifically for the scientists at CERN whose wristwatches wouldn’t work in areas of high magnetism because the movement of most watches stops working when subjected to magnetic fields measuring around 70 Gauss.
This watch was specially designed to work in areas of up to 1,000 Gauss – hence the name ‘Milgauss’.
Discontinued in March 2023, the final Milgauss range contained two different ‘Glass Vert’ or ‘GV’ models, one with a black dial and one with blue – this is the blue dialled ‘GVZ’ variant.
The simple design combined with the size of the case of the Milgauss lends it a solid feeling – unfussy and uncluttered with nothing superfluous.
Just tested by Rolex certified watch specialists Michlmayr & Co and this Rolex Milgauss GVZ is running within COSC spec.
