As you may know, ‘Mr Oakleigh’ writes a regular column in the luxury lifestyle magazine ‘The Norwich Resident’ (http://www.norwichresident.co.uk).
In September 2015 the article was called ‘Watches & Food’ and here it is:
Watches and Food
When I was asked to think about a connection between watches and food, the thought that immediately sprung to mind was to create the perfect watch menu for the perfect culinary day.
As soon as you say the word breakfast, the first words to spring into my mind are ‘full’ and ‘English’. So my choice to start the day would be this Full English Bremont ALT-1C A full fat watch guaranteed to raise the blood pressure and this English thoroughbred will certainly see you through the morning.
Something lighter for lunch perhaps . The Swiss are not known for their heavy meals so this sleek and delicate Patek Philippe Calatrava will do nicely for dining in style as recognised the world over as the ultimate dress watch.
For dinner we’re having Italian. This Panerai 372 is smooth, sumptuous and seductive.
The Italian stallion of the watch world may be big, but is still subtle and stylish and will round the day up very nicely grazie.
All in all, I think this a menu that would leave me feeling fully satisfied.
