What is it with you guys and Bremont?

Here at Oakleigh Watches we’ve become known for all sorts of things over the past two years, perhaps the most surprising of which is that we’ve become the biggest seller of pre-owned Bremont watches in the world. In. The. World. Wow.

The two questions that spring to mind are:

a) How on earth did that happen?

b) What made it come about?

Well it all stemmed from my initial Bremont experience and just escalated from there…

While I’ve been aware of the Bremont watch brand for a few years now, it wasn’t until the summer of 2014 that I bought the first one for Oakleigh Watches – a superbly simple 43mm Solo with a black dial and cream markers that ended up on the wrist of our pilot friend Jake Price.

I recall vividly how impressed I was with everything that arrived that day, from the outer cardboard box to the logo’d tissue paper wrapping the package within, it all oozed quality and promise.

The superb oiled brown leather wallet inside the box which contained the watch and accessories reminded me of an old tool kit and once opened it seems that the folks at Bremont had thought of everything – there is a space for spare straps and a tool to help you to change them as well as somewhere to keep your papers safe so you don’t lose them.

The watch itself is in a zippered pouch in one side of the wallet and I’m sure I will never forget how impressed I was with the Solo that was in this particular one – a fantastic blend of modern and traditional styling, beautifully drawn together into a very straightforward, military styled watch.  It was so much better than I expected it to be. I was instantly hooked and immediately wanted to keep it – not something that happens to me very often these days because basically I’m horribly spoiled in that respect.

A bit of a long winded introduction I know but you see when people ask me what it is that I like about Bremont watches, I invariably reply “everything”.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like all of their designs as many of the limited edition pieces don’t do it for me, but once you find a Bremont that suits you then the whole experience is genuinely a great one.

There are lots of places where you can read the background to the Bremont story, all of which adds a real authenticity to the brand and the ownership experience too, so I won’t go into it here.

Similarly I won’t go into all of the technology such as the Trip-Tick case and the specially hardened bezels here either because the Bremont website is the place to learn the technical stuff if that’s your bag.  Very impressive it all is too.

No, what we’re all about at Oakleigh Watches is the experience of owning a luxury watch, and that’s something that Bremont give you in spades.

What this company gives you is the feeling that you’ve bought something special and that you’re wearing something that has been considered and carefully planned to give you an authentic experience.

These are the reasons why we do our best to stock at least six to eight pre-owned Bremont watches at all times, more than anyone else in the world in fact, and how we’ve sold over 100 of them since last summer.

Bremont are a superb English watch brand making superb watches and we’re very proud to champion them through our commitment to their pre-owned models.

Long may it continue I say.
