Why We Love It

“The black dial of the Rolex Milgauss goes really well with the orange seconds hand and it all looks very special”

What You Should Know

This is an excellent Full Set Rolex 116400 Milgauss with a black dial, bought in 2015. It is complete with everything that came from the factory.

The Rolex 116400 Milgauss range was recently discontinued completely and this has seen a fall in the number of watches available on the market and a rise in prices.  This is one of only a few truly excellent examples available in the UK.

Unfussy and uncluttered with nothing superfluous. The simple design combined with the size of the case of the Milgauss lends it a solid feeling.

The Rolex Milgauss was developed in the late 1950s specifically for the scientists at CERN whose wristwatches wouldn’t work in areas of high magnetism. The movement of most watches stops working when subjected to magnetic fields measuring around 70 Gauss.

This watch was specially designed to work in areas of up to 1,000 Gauss. Hence the name ‘Milgauss’.

Just tested by Rolex certified watch specialists Michlmayr & Co and this Rolex Milgauss is running within COSC spec.

We are experts in buying, selling and trading pre-owned luxury watches and our many 5-star Trust Pilot reviews are testament to our customer satisfaction.

For every watch purchased, we commit to planting 50 trees through Ecologi. Our tree counter can be seen at the bottom of the page or you can read more about our sustainability impact on our Ecologi Profile page.

At Oakleigh Watches we endeavour to bring you the best examples of the watches you’re looking for. With very few exemptions this involves ensuring that all key components are original to the watch. On the very rare occasions that any key components have been replaced this will be made clear in the description. For more information, take a look at our blog “Is that the Original?” READ HERE
The watches that we sell are usually pre-owned and therefore pre-worn. The wearing of the watch, even for a short time, is likely to put small marks on the case or bracelet. If any of our watches are pre-worn and unmarked, then it’s highly likely that it has had a light polish at some point. There’s a temptation to think that any polishing is bad, it is not!
