With more than two centuries of watchmaking heritage, Girard-Perregaux is one of Switzerland’s most respected manufactures - often described as a watchmaker’s watchmaker. This beautifully executed Rattrapante combines that pedigree with one of mechanical watchmaking’s more sophisticated complications.
Unlike a conventional chronograph, a Rattrapante or split-seconds chronograph uses two superimposed chronograph seconds hands, allowing you to time simultaneous events or intermediate intervals independently. It’s a wonderfully technical complication and considerably less common than a standard chronograph.
The watch itself is stunning. Its silver stepped guilloché dial is complemented beautifully by blued hands and a new brown leather strap fitted to the original Girard-Perregaux buckle. Condition is excellent throughout, with no notable scratches, dings or gouges and a beautifully preserved dial and handset.
It’s also supplied as a genuine Full Set, including the original wooden presentation box, cardboard outer box, papers and manual. Recently tested, it is running within COSC specification.
