In 2020, Sir Tom Moore became a national hero after walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday, raising over £32 million for NHS charities. To recognise his achievement, Oris presented him with a one-of-one Big Crown Pointer Date, featuring a specially engraved caseback, as part of its Local Heroes initiative.
Sir Tom decided to auction the watch to raise further funds for the NHS. Purchased by one of our customers at that auction, this is his actual presentation watch, now available through Oakleigh Watches.
The watch features a 42mm bronze case, developing a beautiful natural patina, and a striking green dial with white Arabic numerals, luminous syringe hands and Oris's signature red-tipped pointer date. A brown leather strap with matching bronze buckle completes the vintage-inspired design.
Condition is excellent, with no damage to the watch and only light wear to the original strap. Recently tested and running within COSC specifications, it comes with our 12-month warranty.
Accompanied by its original papers, leather pouch, card holder and enamelled Holstein Bear keyring, it also includes a GQ Men of the Year article referencing the watch and a copy of GQ featuring Sir Tom on the cover.
A genuinely unique Oris with exceptional provenance - not simply a one-of-one watch, but a remarkable piece of British history.
