The 16713 GMT Master II was produced between 1989 and 2007 – this one is from 1991 and so it’s one of the first made and has the Tritium dial and hands and 62523 Jubilee bracelet.
Here at Oakleigh Watches, we have always known that the classic Rolex GMT Master II was a definite appreciating asset and prices have gone up and up recently and watches in great condition like this are becoming harder to find. Prices have been rising steadily for the past few years and they’re showing no sign of slowing.
This is especially the case with the rarest of all 16710 series GMTs, the 16713 'Tigerauge' or 'Root Beer'.
The main features of the 16713 are all present with this watch including the white gold indexes on the brown dial and the sapphire crystal. The dial and hands are superb with no patina or damage whatsoever – it’s all incredibly clean and crisp.
The 'Tigerauge' or 'Root Beer' insert is pretty perfect, the case edges are sharp and even and the lugs are thick. The Jubilee bracelet is truly excellent and has only a little wear – I have to say that this is a superb example of a Rolex GMT Master II Root Beer – It has undoubtedly been very lightly and very carefully worn.
It comes with the correct original boxes, the papers and their wallet and all cards and booklets as well as the Swimpruf tag and the Red seal.
The movement has recently been serviced – it has also just been tested by Michlmayr & Co, the movement runs within COSC spec with very strong amplitude and won’t need another service for some years.
Complete with a twelve month warranty, this is an excellent example of a 16713 Root Beer.
